On-line virtual patients (VPs) are well received by students and permit the school to meet the MCC objectives and the AFMC accreditation requirements. When combined with other teaching methodologies they can be part of a blended learning solution that integrates didactic material, procedural practice, role-playing and experience in clinical arenas, and serve to enrich the new curriculum in surgery. At McGill, we have a long history and an internationally recognized expertise in the development of VP’s.
